20 year reunion at Notre Dame
Margaret and I travelled to Domerland for our 20th reunion. We had a great time meeting up with some old friends and just walking around campus. One fun part was staying in one of the dorms with the kids. We had three rooms in Dillon Hall, home of the Big Red. Some of our highlights:
1) Eating a couple of meals in the South Dining Hall. Paul and Jack thought they were in the Hogwarts dining hall from Harry Potter. I had to give each one of them a chance to load their trays on the revolving rack for taking the used dishes back to the kitchen.
2) Visiting the Huddle for snacks and looking at all the pictures on the walls.
3) Stalking down to Brady Quinn's dorm room. For the uninitiated, he is the QB for the football team.
4) While the boys went to a day camp, Marg and I had a free day to fraternize with friends. There were quite a few people we had not seen for 20 years. And we discovered there were some people who know people who live here in Prairie Crossing!
5) Realizing the second day the ND is now permanently on Eastern Time - no wonder we were always late!
6) Jordan referring to the Dome as the "golden dorm".
7) The joys of walking down the hall and around the corner to reach the bathroom and showers. I caught myself almost falling back into the habit of opening the door half dressed.
8) Drinking beer on the quad during a really pleasant lunch picnic.
